Our custom whitening systems
At Portlethen Dental, we use two teeth whitening systems to bring you the best bespoke results. Our economy package is just £250 and includes comfortable whitening trays printed in-house and three tubes of whitening gel. We give you full instructions for your treatment at home over the next two weeks and always look forward to seeing your new whiter smile at the end!
Boutique whitening can also give outstanding results, providing you with a sparkling smile in just 2-3 weeks. Custom made whitening trays and specialised whitening gel combine in an easy to use home treatment, able to be used overnight or for a short time during the day, whichever suits you best. The close fitting trays ensure Boutique whitens your teeth evenly and gives a brighter and healthy looking smile you can be proud of.
Customised pola night whitening
As the name suggests, pola night professional whitening takes place overnight, in the comfort of your own home. The custom made whitening trays are designed to be as snug and comfortable as possible, easily enabling you to sleep soundly while the treatment works its magic on your teeth!
Your pola night treatment comes with everything you need for a successful whitening journey, including a supply of whitening gel. It contains fluoride, which protects against tooth sensitivity, and uses specialised technology to ensure the nerves and nerve endings in your gums are not damaged. Pola night can achieve incredible results for your smile and your confidence.

Book an appointmentWe begin by examining your teeth and gums, making sure you are in good dental health and suitable for whitening treatment. We discuss the teeth whitening process with you, and give you the chance to ask us any questions.
Using innovative digital technology, we take scans and images of your teeth so your customised whitening trays can be created. We always make sure we capture an image of your smile pre-whitening so we can really see the difference with your results!
When your trays are ready, we show you how to apply the whitening gel and insert them into your mouth. They work in a very similar way to a mouthguard, with a snug fit over your teeth. Then it is over to you to whiten your teeth at home over the next 2-3 weeks, as advised by your dentist. We’re always here if you need us though.
When you have completed treatment at home, you have another appointment in the practice, so we can check everything has gone to plan and you are happy with your results. We show you how far your smile has transformed from your initial shade and leave you to enjoy it!

Home whitening kits which can be bought online and whitening in beauty salons should be avoided, as these treatments are not regulated and could cause damage to your teeth and gums.
Teeth whitening is considered a cosmetic dental treatment, and as such is not available on the NHS. Please talk to us about your options, including our flexible ways to pay.
The teeth whitening process does not hurt at all, especially when bespoke whitening trays are used for maximum comfort. During treatment, you may experience some sensitivity in your teeth, but this is temporary and will go once your whitening is complete.
