Restore the gap in your smile
More patients are now able to achieve the look they have always dreamed of and close the gap in their smile with a secure and natural looking bridge. Made from porcelain fused to a metal base, or from all ceramic for a truly aesthetic result, bridges work by using the teeth on either side of the gap, known as abutment teeth, as strong support for a replacement tooth in the middle.
Let’s get startedWhat can bridges do?
Bridges can help to achieve an number of different outcomes, including:
- Restoring your smile
- Restoring your ability to speak and chew properly
- Replacing missing teeth
- Protecting your otherwise vulnerable gums
- Preventing remaining teeth from drifting out of position
- Boosting your confidence levels
What does the treatment involve?
Book an appointmentWe first make sure that the teeth that will support the bridge are healthy and strong. They are then prepared through removing a layer of enamel.
We take impressions of the prepared teeth. These are sent to the dental laboratory. While your bridge is custom-made, we provide you with a temporary bridge to protect the exposed teeth.
When ready, the bridge is checked and adjusted to make sure it fits perfectly and it is finally fixed in place with strong dental cement.
Frequently asked questions
With good oral hygiene, it is not uncommon for a dental bridge to last in excess of ten years.
It is important to keep the remaining teeth healthy by brushing twice a day. Your dental hygienist can advise on how to properly brush and floss your teeth, and your dentist will keep an eye on your bridge at your regular check-up appointments.
Your bridge is permanently fixed into place and cannot be removed. Bridges are secure and stable, making it easy to talk and eat without worrying they will slip or move.
